Greetings
Ballists & Cranks Alike!
On
Saturday, June 14, 2014, the Cincinnati Vintage Base Ball
Club will host four other vintage teams from around the
Midwest to a day of base ball as it was played in 1869. The
event is being held at Heritage Village and other sites around
beautiful Sharon Woods Park in Sharonville, Ohio.
Come
out and experience the exciting play of base ball before
gloves,
the sportsmanship of ballists who played before contracts
and free-agency, and the unique atmosphere of our national
pastime as it was meant to be played. This year, nines
from Belleville, IL, Columbus, OH, and Upper Sandusky, OH,
will play ball against our two host teams, the Cincinnati
Buckeyes
and the
famous
1869
Cincinnati Red Stockings...
Be sure to give them your heartiest “Huzzah”!
But
that’s
not all. This year, Heritage Village is hosting FREE open
house tours of the Village and its Victorian-era
buildings during the Festival, along with free admission
to the games on our main field.* There will also be typical
base
ball fare and refreshment, souvenirs to remember the day,
and plenty of history come alive. Come out and join us for
a full
day of base ball in 1869!
*Sharon
Woods is a Hamilton County Park, which charges $3 daily parking
or $10 for the year. |
